WAR OF CONSCIOUSNESS

I live on a Revolutionary War battlefield, in real life. There was a British fort on the very soil that now holds my home. This is hallowed ground, and I’ve become immersed in the history of the epic occurrences here: the final battle of the Revolutionary War that led to our country's freedom from British rule.
This feat was remarkable because no other country had succeeded in securing freedom from monarchical rule. But even in the midst of this revolution, freedom was only for the few—white men. They did not extend the freedom of voice and vote in this newly won democracy to women, enslaved people, or the indigenous, despite their critical role in the revolution’s success.
Make it make sense.
Today, we, too, are in the middle of a war, but it is a war unlike any other. This is a war of consciousness. This is a war fought to determine whether we will remain enslaved to the duality that keeps us engaged in the game of us against them, or whether we will choose a new path of unity and freedom (for all). We are in a purgatory of sorts, in between worlds, as we collectively await to see where our consciousness will land.
These in-between places can feel really chaotic and confusing because, in order for one thing to end, the old thing must crumble. It’s impossible to build a new, stable foundation on one that has decayed. This experience of letting go can be scary. We may want to do everything possible to stop it. The known may feel better, no matter how shitty, than the unknown. But this is part of the process.
We’re witnessing this transition process in the United States' political climate. As we watch things become increasingly bizarre, we are witnessing the collapse of one thing, the desperation of those trying to hold onto something that is already crumbling, and the chaos of the transition from one way of being to another. I imagine it is as shocking as the end of monarchical rule 250 years ago.
In order for us to make this transition, we must be enlightened by the truth. The veil lifts, and we see what has been taking place for eons behind the scenes without our collective awareness. This revelation must be so extreme that it is perceived by most, not just a few, in order to facilitate the transition to unity consciousness.
And boy, is it extreme.
What is so perplexing is that so few in government have the courage to speak out against what is happening, and instead, gaslight us, hoping we’ll fall in line. This is the old consciousness holding on for dear life. It is a projection of our collective consciousness fed by fear, duality, and victimhood. The fuel for this behavior is the fallacy that we are separate and that there is always someone outside of us to blame. That somehow the color of our skin, gender identification, or political affiliation pits us against each other, and we need someone (like him) to protect us from the other.
This is one last desperate attempt to divide, manipulate, and maintain control. Division and duality are of an old fear-based consciousness that has fueled tyranny and wars since the beginning of time. While we must act to combat this internal “enemy,” which threatens our hard-won freedoms, we must do so from a higher consciousness. We are not “fighting” against a physical someone. This is a battle of consciousness, a war of energy. Our energetic signatures contribute to either a low or high level of consciousness in our world. Our higher consciousness is our sword, our musket, our cannon, and it doesn’t inflict harm, it inflicts love. By changing our consciousness, we change the world.
How do we raise our consciousness? We become aware of our emotional triggers, whether they are benign, like someone cutting us off in traffic, or whether they are major, like discovering someone we love stole $10,000 from us. The event triggers emotions that desire to be seen, felt, and released. Feel the emotions as if they are elements of a storm that will pass. There is no need to get stuck in a state of victimhood or assign judgment. Just recognize the emotion—the hurt, the anger, the shock—and let it pass through. Then turn your energy to love and compassion, and take any necessary practical steps to remedy the situation.
As we discover that we don’t have to get stuck in negative emotions or victimhood, we step outside of duality. The consequence is that the dualistic and divisive energy fueling conflict in our world is reduced. As we cultivate emotional awareness and maintain a higher vibration of love and compassion, we contribute to a higher level of consciousness on Earth. It’s that simple.
